Planet Aid Office Space Fit-out
Planet Aid, located in Milford, MA, is a nonprofit organization that collects and recycles used clothes and shoes and fosters international development. Their bright yellow collection boxes can be found across the United States. Here at the home office, they had expanded beyond the capacity of their 14,000 s.f. office and warehouse space. Landmark Associates was brought in for a commercial fit-out and renovation which added an additional 10,000 s.f. including executive offices, an interactive conference room and new bathroom facilities.
The nine-month project included warehouse renovations featuring a new roof over the office areas, replacement and upgrades to the loading dock doors, installation of new loading dock/entry doors and the creation of an internal dumpster bay so that trash and recyclables could be handled inside the facility. Meanwhile, the sprinkler system was upgraded with new heads, back-flow preventers and piping. A 30′ x 45′ penthouse was cut into the existing roof structure to accommodate for the height of the production equipment and to bring natural light into the production space. All lighting was upgraded with new fixtures and motion sensors as part of an energy audit process.
